Words From The President General Mrs. Angela Asobo

In the pursuit of perpetuating a legacy, one must adhere steadfastly to the principles and convictions set forth by its progenitors. The esteemed founding mothers of Nkoni have bequeathed unto us a legacy that demands our earnest incorporation in our March forward. Chief among the inheritances bestowed upon us by these venerable women is their unwavering CONVICTION and BELIEF, which have not only shaped our collective philosophy but also our approach to life itself. Secondly, we have inherited the esteemed BRAND NAME – “NKONI” – symbolizing their credibility, distinguished track record, and profound impact. This legacy, unswervingly embraced, defines our identity and purpose.
Our revered predecessors and mothers understood the pivotal role of women as the bedrock upon which our societal edifice stands. They foresaw the contemporary challenges and attacks besieging the fundamental values defining womanhood, both spiritually and socially. The evident decline in the essence of womanhood manifests not only through societal vices and scandals but also through discord and internal strife within groups.
It is imperative to recognize that Nkoni Cameroon embodies an ethos of elitism, wherein every Nkoni woman is regarded as an elite and a leader. However, this elitism transcends mere superiority or haughtiness; rather, it epitomizes a form of leadership characterized by elevated skills, knowledge, and expertise. It is a leadership ethos that inspires, motivates, communicates effectively amidst turmoil, and harbors a resolute vision and purpose. Such leadership extends compassion to the underprivileged within our communities, devoid of condescension. Our revered mothers instilled in us the virtue of counting our blessings daily and sharing our abundance with the less fortunate, as evidenced by our principal projects and philanthropic endeavors.
As with any women’s organization, we grapple with challenges stemming from the diverse psychological dispositions, upbringing and educational backgrounds of our members. While preserving the dignity of each member, we must endeavor to identify, harness, and utilize the unique talents and strengths within our ranks. Let us cherish the value of sisterhood, ensuring that personal biases do not hinder us from embracing commendable initiatives or suggestions. Our successes and setbacks should be embraced collectively, leveraging the power of strategic relationships and networking. Now, more than ever, we must champion transparency, accountability, and foster an inclusive space for dialogue, scrutiny, and participation.
It is our fervent hope that this third edition of Nkam Menzui Magazine, dedicated to both longstanding and new Nkoni members, shall serve as a guiding beacon as we progress unitedly in our indivisible sisterhood of love. I urge all members to procure a copy, with branches encouraged to secure additional copies for posterity.
Nkoni is here to stay, it is destined to transcend the passage of time. Let us build bridges to foster cohesion within our international sisterhood, paving the way for future generations.
Nkoni – One Love !
